I have the Fake Alphonso, Frank said it was Bombay but AZ said not really. They both bashed this mango but my wife and I and friends REALLY like it. Quite big, nice blend of sweet and tart with a slight piney taste, fiberless. A couple of Swiss friends who spent a couple of years in India said it reminded them of the mangoes they have eaten there.
Anyway, my butts are still sore from self kicking for not able to make it to the tasting!

It's not that we dislike fake Alfonso there are some many better mangos that we grow this one is ignore. Looking forward seeing at the moya tasting maybe we'll have some late mangos in January

when is prime grafting time for mango in socal?

gonna get some rootstock in the ground now and have them ready!

July - September, with August being the best.

You can stretch and add June this time of year forget it

I don't know how you guys have scions in June to August for grafting since the trees are with fruits and so no new shoots exist. I only can have scions to graft in late September and October.

Sapote, that is because we have multiple grafted trees, not all trees and varieties fruited this year and those are pushing,

2018 tasting cancellation was due to the significant loss of fruit caused by the July 6th heatwave.
This was one of the poorest years for mango fruit production in SoCal.

Us Texans are hurting for you folks.    You've had your butts kicked by mama natur every which way but Sunday.  I hope rain comes soon!

FWIW, lots of Texas firefighter crews are currently fighting along side your crews.  Devastation is unreal.

Climate change devastated our mango and avocado crops this summer as well as our forest causing the loss of life and property.....thank you Mark....everything is bigger in Texas including yr hearts!
