When I was in Cancun, I remember the resort I stayed at had them and they were awesome.  No one else seemed to be eating them.

I'm "franktank232" from the other board... 

I'm in southwest WI and grow a wide range of fruit trees such as: peaches, pluots, plums, sweet cherries, pears, apples, raspberries, strawberries, grapes, apricots...  Someday I hope to grow and fruit a mango (in a container) up here.

If the tree is dormant, you can do almost anything you want to it.  I transplanted some very large sweet cherries in late fall one year and the next year they still flowered/fruited, although yield was very low.  I have Lapins, Stella, Kristin and Black Gold.

I went there during January a few years back.  Not much was ripe if I remember correctly.  Neat place to wander around. I'd like to go back during summer or whenever more fruits were ripe.

1. Flavor king pluot
2. White peaches
3. Honeycrisp apple (best ever)
4. Mango (ataulfo)-I've only had a small variety of mangoes
5. Bartlett Pear (must be perfectly ripened)

Honorable mention would be Moro (blood) oranges, avocados and Galia melons.

I really have had little contact with fresh tropical fruits, only canned/frozen...so obviously if I spent a year in Thailand I would probably have a vastly different list.
