Was at the orchard today and remembered the Una de Gato request , so I went outside and looked at the ( pain in the a...) plant , it grows 6 plus meters from my wall and I noticed a 2 meters branch invaded my passion fruits inside my lot . Didn't see flowers but will keep an eye on it . But I warn you after a while you will cut it down ( it keeps coming back hahahahaha.....) Try to find out on the web if a cutting will root . Leaving for Europe now...
Locals boil the branches/wood and drink the tea . The water turns reddish .

I will never cut it down.... trust me lol.

According to article it does root from a cutting and it is much preferred than growing it from seed.

Quote
Generally, the propagation of the seed is difficult because viability rapidly declines after dehiscing, so cat’s claw is usually propagated asexually by cuttings. Eight-inch sections of the stem are cut for planting as cuttings. If the soil of the forest is moist enough, cuttings are said to be easy to reproduce by directly inserting them into the forest floor. If the conditions are right, the roots develop soon after transplant. However, others recommend reforesting cat’s claw through the use of natural regeneration.

Yes I have rooted it from cuttings when I lived in Hawaii. Never tried it from seed, since the stock plant was cut back enough that it never flowered. It IS a very vigorous grower in tropical conditions. I had to leave the stock plants when I moved back to the mainland; I am surprised it has not become more widespread there in the intervening years, given the rampant growth.
