Hey Mohd , all the GONDO ( Stylogyne or Ardisia , not 100 % sure ) that you will hear about was spread by me , Brazil , Puerto Rico , USA , Africa , etc....

I cannot judge if it tastes better than Acay , never had fresh Acai , only in ice cream and drinks .

Anyway , it is a very fast and proliferous bush , very appreciated by the locals here in this area . The old timers claim it has lots of medicinal properties .

The berry is about 1 cm , fruits 2 x a year , we make a lemonade with the diluted juice , has a very delicate flavor . I also sell the fruits by the bucket to people who make ice cream . My Mexican wife swears by it .

A no problem , small , not over 2 meters , plant . Seeds are hard , ribbed , 3 mm .

I should have fruit in Januari/Februari .

Thank you for sharing your experience with us

colecionandofrutas, did mention that he or they received the seeds from a collector in Mexico (I guess that is you).

I'm interested in some seeds. Add me to the list.

Beautiful

Did you try to make wine from it ?. I tried to find some information about this plant but I could not find anything. It seems to be unknown to most people.

Yes it's the same fruit . We are not 100% sure what the real scientific name is , a biologist friend says it is Ardisia compresa or revoluta ....Don't you have those in Guerrero ?

Not that I'm aware, at least in the Acapulco area is not known, so... it's another one for the "please Luc add me for some seeds" list ;)
