Was wondering if Epsom Salt Beneficial for Florida Mangos & Avacados ?
If so at what dosage ?

I read somewhere in the internet that some people use Epsom salt to fertilize mango and avocado trees I was just wondering if it's really beneficial for them thank you

diluted Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) is used as an amendment for plants by adding magnesium to the soil, which helps w/ yellowing of leaves

Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate .It is used to green up palms after winter ,it help plants to take in other fertilzer.I have never used it on mango or avocado .Would help green them up.

I agree with use for palms however its much more than to "green up the leaves". It is very common for palms to have a magnesium deficiency (they are inefficient at extracting Magnesium from the soil ) and Epsom Salts are commonly used to cure the deficiency.

Epsom salts are good for plants with swollen feet, like elephant foot palm and baobabs.

Epsom salts are pretty commonly used on fruit trees and I put it in my fertlizer blend.Dolomite is a good way to deliver Mg if your soil is acid.You wouldn't need much around avos and mangoes and it would do more good than harm.It is a good idea to find out what your soil type is and what nutrients are limiting in that soil type in your local area.

I think the oldtimers used it around citrus trees. They knew nothing about iron chelates. Possibly magnesium and iron can interchange. Transmute?? maybe. IOW spread Epsom salt for an iron problem as well as magnesium problem?

The Idea with citrus I think is that is sweetens fruit.Many nutrient deficiencies are caused by poor fertilizer selection and a lack of understanding of induced imbalances.Apply excess Mg and a deficiency of K and Fe can be created.Apply excess calcium and an Mg deficiency can occur.Ca,Mg and S are macronutrients not just NPK and are vital.There would not be a lot of photosynthesis without it.By the time a deficiency shows the plant has already suffered.

I sprinkle everything in my yard with a light dose of Epsom twice a year.

I use Epsom salts in my Potted Fruit trees (Mango, Lychee, Citrus)...but in very diluted amount. I use 1/4 tsp per gallon of water added to the fertilizer (liquid) I use. I use this mixture about every 2 weeks and it helps keep the leaves nice and green.
