I'm looking to start a few dwarf, container avocados. I found a wealth of tips and recipes for mango container mixes on here and the google, but the info on avocado mixes is scant. I gather that drainage is at a premium and moisture retention can quickly lead to root rot, but I was hoping to find a recipe or two. Can anyone that has success long-term growing avocados in containers share what they use (breaking down the ingredient ratios would be extra helpful). Ingredients I currently have on-hand: coco coir, peat, bio-char, perlite, vermiculite, pine bark, worm castings, and pool-filter sand. I can find most everything I might need locally.
BTW, I'm in SW Florida on the coast, high humidity and scorching hot sun nearly year-round.
Thanks!!
