Julie, i made these for all my young trees.  Besides protecting from weed whacker, protects from bumping it.  Ive had one almost knocked over, another gouged from mower.
2x6x12 cut into 4.  Long screws hold them together.  Pre drill board its not screwing in.
Carpet has no backing.  This one was around Avocado that doesn't need it.
I tied low fruit up since photo.

I'm after Kent type flavor kicked up a notch.
Love the perfect Kent but my 20yr old tree's not loving me back lately.

What gets me is how dry lawn becomes sand.  You wonder how the heck grass was so nice there?
Before dinner & downpours last night I threw fertilizer at 3 avocados (more of a privacy hedge) & a Flame grapefruit.

Large walnut size, 1st yr fruiting, never tasted m4.
Cut it half, quartered, cut skin off & popped in mouth.
Tasted like crunchy mild lime.  Believe it or not i enjoyed & swallowed it.
Tasted white seed, wasn't bad but spit it out incase it was poison lol.

Hi all.  I have bags of nice pure cypress mulch.
I read it lowers ph which was frowned upon for some plants but citrus should like that, right?
My planted 15 gallon flame grapefruit tree isn't happy anyway with all the citrus pests.
Months ago i used a bunch around bananas after weeding & didn't kill them & doing great job keeping floratam grass from creeping in & looks good as day i did it.
Grapefruit tree should like it, right?

Honey bees were all over Kent.  Odd, flies too.
I smelled them & some smell nice, thought they would stink.  ?

Good question.  My 1st thought was Anthracnose invite lol.
I'd think garden hose for a minute is plenty on non giants.
I'm considering watering mine with some K.

Jabo, looks great.  If i had 50k burning a hole in my pocket, i'd have a pool co. put up 20x60 pool enclosure over my mango trees lol.  No squirrels!
Rob, i hear ya re rain coming, we shall see.  Only 1/4" last month which my lawn can testify.

2 yrs ago i planted a 15gal Ortanique & Flame grapefruit.  Leaf miners are my problem.
Bifenthrin gets them but needs reapplying & i'm busy enough.
Drenched them both with kelp a couple times recently, fertilizer, sulfur, gypsum, they're looking better.
No i will not plant citrus again.

Nematodes- interesting one of you said they're eating roots yet their suggested for weevils.
I chose 1/2oz/gal bifenthrin for weevils on my mangos & they vanished 99% after 1 spray.  No drench.

Let's hope this year makes up for last which for me, stunk!
My couple year in ground trees looking like i'll have fruits to remove if panicles keep coming! 
M4 & Pickering almost every branch will have them.  Last year zero on all.
Cogshall starting, Maha nothing, Peach cobbler nothing, Phoenix nothing, Raw honey nothing.
Big ol Kent starting.
Hope they live up to the tasting table vids, i never tasted any.  Heck i love my Kent though.

Julie, i've watched TT ms chris video & she cut the entire panicle off & put in bag.
If i remember right, she said yes it can spread.
