Grimal Grove Pictures
« on: November 30, 2014, 09:07:00 AM »
Some friends stopped by the Grimal Grove at Thanksgiving and sent me their pictures. I've named what plants I can but the numbered pictures are a mystery. Any ideas?
Postimage flipped some photos on their side.

nice pictures!

thanks for sharing!

1) is Pouteria sp. (rare, something like Nooga Sapote is what one expert said..i believe its one of several variations of the species, Pouteria torta)

2) is Mabolo, this one is the best i've had!!! excellent selection, the fruit is not too stringy, not cheesy tasting....has red skin, I think this variety is self fruitful

3) ? can't tell which tree you want me to identify...i see a big mango tree, and maybe an allspice tree (or bay rum)

4) ? can't tell from the photo, need a closer picture.

Thanks for the IDs. I thought #1 looked suspiciously like a canistel.
I'm pretty sure #4 is just a generic picture of some plantings.

That place looks cool, but a jungle. I would be afraid to do yard maintenance for worry that I would cut something important I don't recognize.

Lol u know a few trees got wrecked by some ignorant dude on a bobcat...I think patrick told me the imbe got plowed by accident, but looked like some roots were sprouting....I have a seedling from Grimals grove and its self fruitful, makes me wonder if it's just chance, or did he have a special variety?
