Ruth mango
« on: July 17, 2018, 10:37:03 AM »
So I've been ordering boxes of mangoes from Tropical Acres, which have been amazing.  One question has cropped up for me though; I just put in a custom order which included a variety called Ruth which I can't find anything about.  Do any of you know anything about this mango?

I'll revive this thread cause a friend gave me a "Ruth" mango to go. Any info would be appreciated. I haven't cut it yet so I'll post pics.

Just had the "Ruth" mango. Size and shape reminded me of "Duncan" mango. Flesh was nearly fiberless. Flesh near the skin was bitter. I've had similar experiences like this with SE Asian cvs. and their derivatives- especially PPK and Duncan. Brix registered 16. Seed was mono.

Was that a shipped fruit or purchased at the fruit stand? Because if it came from the fruit stand it could have been a Young mis-identifies as a Ruth. Ruth has an Indian/West Indian flavor.
