Green Sapote Scion Selection

I'd like to graft a cutting from my green sapote tree onto a mamey rootstock I've got ready. Does this look like a good scion candidate? It just finished flowering and the terminal bud appears as though it's about to grow. I plan to cut it just above the little branchlet that's popping out on the right.

Yes, should work.
Do you get any fruits on your green sapote ?

Yeah, it's had one fruit on there for several months now that's slowly getting bigger, and it appears to have set more fruit this spring. The tree has only been in the ground for two years so I'm pretty happy with it.
