Title: Citrus growers in my area
Post by: LBurford on September 12, 2019, 09:20:28 AM
I am hoping to find other members that might live in my area. I live on the Arkansas / Louisiana state line about an hour north of Shreveport Louisiana. I am in a zone 8a. I have several Citrumelo trees that have been growing outside for 4 years. They made it through some 5 degree nights with no protection in 2018 (Our coldest winter in 25 years). I also have two Kimsbrough satsuma trees that are planted on the south side of my house that I give minimal protection during the winter. This year I added two Thomasville Citangerquats. I am hoping to find people with in an hour or so from me that I could meet and see what they have growing. I also have dozens of different oaks from around the country and world and have some native chinquapin trees.

Welcome Larry. Louisiana native here. A little too far from you. Post pics of your stuff. I am sure you will find someone near you that has the citrus passion.
