It should be soft and aromatic. Best to let guava ripen on tree

I have Barbie Pink Guavas.
My guavas alway let me know when they are ripe by their sweet tropical fragrance.
I usually smell them before I see them.
I only wish they tasted as good as they smell.

Should the whole thing be yellow? The whole fruit is squishy and smells sweet, and it's bright yellow, just not at the  top half where it is connected to the tree.
