In SW Florida I have Marcus Pumpkin, Choquette, Day, Mexicola, Russell, Brogdon and some seedlings & unknowns. With that array this year I had a six month harvest window. All of them have good taste if held on the tree as long as possible. Brogdon has thin edible skin which clings and Mexicola is very small, 1/2 the size of a small Hass but the earliest for me. Beta and Dupuis seem interesting to me if I wanted to expand. Avocados are nearly the finest fruit I grow as far as usability. Mangoes are fantastic and Papaya come close because of precocity and long season. Since I have 100 more assorted trees yet to bear maybe my thoughts will change but that's where I am presently.
