would you ship any of these 1 gal grafted trees?
I'm looking into shipping, still not sure on that one. Busy AF with work stuff now, so haven't had time to play with figuring out how to safely ship these things.
Most California nurseries stock the suebelle which is dwarf. It's yellow skinned so not the sweetest. I hear about cultivars like Malibu #3, Golden Globe, Selk, Clytia, North Park, McDill, etc.
Fairhaven is the best I tasted. high brix 30 plus but not nauseatingly sweet very custardy creamy eat entire fruit, flesh and all, not bitter....pretty close to cherimoya
Will you plant it in the ground?
At least I bought it from Bernhardt Voss under this name.
He propagated Bloomsweet seedling budwood grafted on poncirus and it seems that the first flowering happened in my garden. Other than shape it fits the description of Kinkoji/Bloomsweet.
Hopefully they don't make it illegal to graft citrus like some states did.
My Bloomsweet is doing beautifully till now. On PTFD, north exposure, it is dealing beautifully with cold snaps we had till now (Temps ranging from 30 to 24F). It is the biggestPancrazio,
My main concern is, if it remains so vigorous probably the place where i though it could be planted will be too small. I hoped to have a plant no taller than 2,5/3mt (8-10ft max).
The mother plant of your graft is now almost 4 meters high, but columnar in shape.
Last week harvest:
Very good taste, completely ripe, sweet with some pleasant acidity, practically no bitterness, for me it is better than most of conventional grapefruits
