Here's my Younghan's Gold fruits, photos taken on 12/29/23. When they get ripe, I will take a few more. I ate a few of these fruits that fell off the tree, it was very sweet, brix=19.

Reedo, nice looking Walton. How was the taste of your fruits? I haven't tasted the Walton yet.

Just ate a few more Younhan's Gold fruits from my tree. It is still excellent tasting. The brix =19, which is pretty high for a white sapote.

I still think it is one of my best tasting white sapote fruit. This is the 3rd year of fruiting on my tees.

Citrus General Discussion / Re: Cocktail Pummelo tree (Mandalo)
« on: January 17, 2024, 09:17:17 PM »
Yup, I have both Cocktail and Valentine.

This year the Cocktail fruits were much smaller than normal but it tasted better to me than the Valentine. The Valentine is a large fruit (up to 2 lbs) but it is sweet with no acid taste at all. I like my citrus with sweet and a little acid taste.

There is one more fruit that looks to be purple, or lavender in color. The last one that I found is the Lebanese purple mulberry, have not gotten any fruits on my tree yet.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Loquat on Provence Quince?
« on: January 15, 2024, 04:26:42 PM »
I can comment on the first year Sunset loquat, it is nothing special. I have many grafted branches on my multi-grafted Big Jim loquat tree and Sunset did not impress me much. Maybe this year it will taste better than average.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: What is a good rootstock for pomelos?
« on: January 09, 2024, 09:29:20 PM »
Hee's some info, says because grapefruits are a cross of pomelo and oranges, it has the same compounds. So you should treat it like a gapefruit, will interfere with your medication.

I see the same thing, I purchased three plants in 3-gallon pots last year, I had each in a different location in my yard (full sun, partial sun, shade). The plant in full sun has most of the leaves turning brown now and the best looking (green leaves) is the one in the shade.

I will need to re-pot one of them since the pot came torn and some of the soil came out, after I re-pot, will move them all into the shade until the plant grows more.

If I get it again, when the graft grows out, I will let you know.
