Temperate Fruit Discussion / Yellowing stem on blueberries.....
« on: June 12, 2019, 02:56:09 PM »
Having more problems with my blueberries.. we got hit with a heat wave this week over 100 degrees..Not sure if thats what caused this or something else?
Some of the leaves look like they were dried and crusted..and the base of the stem is yellow and looks unhealthy... Is this some sort of fungal infection?
thanks for the help

Temperate Fruit Discussion / How to make potting soil more acidic
« on: June 06, 2019, 04:04:09 PM »
Hi, so i ended up testing my blueberry plants soil (in a 24 inch width , 28 inch deep container) and the PH was 6..
I realize i probably should have done this before planting my plants.. but now that my plants are planted and established..how can i lower the PH? I used a 50/50 mix of organic potting soil + Peat moss .. but yeah the PH seems too high still.. do i need to repot? or can i add some sort of liquid to lower the ph?

Hi, So I bought and transplanted this O'Neal Blueberry southern highbush from lowes about a month ago.. I realize now the pots probably too big.. but yeah the question i have is.. why does this plant just keep growing out instead of up? do i need to put a stake in and tie all those branches to help it grow up and not out? Would i hurt the roots if i put a stake down now? The plant has probably doubled in size since when i bought it.

Citrus General Discussion / Need help with my Eureka Lemon tree..
« on: May 24, 2019, 02:29:04 PM »
So I picked this Eureka lemon tree from lowes about 5 weeks ago, First question is.. should i cut off all the small lemons on the tree to help more growth ? Id like to keep them on if possible..but ive heard i should take off first year plants.. but how do i know how old the plant is..

secondly.. in the 5 weeks that ive had the plant.. it doesnt seem like theres any new growth (except the small lemons.. those have grown a little).. same exact size still, no new branches..

Also on the 4th picture... is that outward/down curl of the leaf normal?

Thanks!
