Do you know if he is doing his own tissue culture of those bananas or does he have agristarts or someone else do it?

They really brought the best looking star apples with them huh?  ???

They told me that the best ones had already been picked and that these were the leftovers!

I was thinking the same thing...and they could have at least cut the display fruit in the right direction to show the "star".

Those starapples aren't ripe and will never ripen properly. It's a common mistake to pick them like that because bottom of fruit looks purple, you can't see top part and if top is green fruit never ripens correctly.

Those tissue cultured Banana's are really healty!!! 8)

Propagating banana's from suckers is a waste of time!!! If you take a sucker from a diseased mother plant...the sucker will be contaminated and thus the growth rate and production will be poor!!!

From a single diseased free and certified sucker, you will be able to produce 200 identical clones of superior quality...insteed of 1 plant from a single sucker!!!
Time is like a river.
You cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again.
Enjoy every moment of your life!

They mean well, but the problem is that the fruit groups want to have something for the public to view and taste but the timing is not always right.  Having perfectly ripened fruit to coincide with the event is plain luck sometimes.  I tasted those Caimitos and although not perfectly ripened, they were better than a crappy store bought apple or mango!

Yeah, i can understand that. But i often see starapple fruits like that (1/2 unripe) for sale here. It's a common mistake because the bottom of the starapple fruit looks ripe purple, and you cannot see top 1/2 of the fruit high up on the tree. So this tree when tall is a bit tricky to pick at perfect stage even when you mean well.

That banana man sure is one of the most chipper, and outgoing salespersons I've had the pleasure of dealing with.

His aura emanates exuberance and an earnest empathy for uneducated end-users.  :)
