back from the dead
« on: June 14, 2014, 02:13:02 PM »
OVer the winter I watched my Eustis Limequat steadily decline.  When it start losing most of its leaves I pulled it out of the pot and realized the roots were all rotted, likely due to poor location of drainage holes in the container.  I repotted it and treated it with AgriFos and watched every leaf fall off and every branch die over the spring.  It just sprouted some new growth above the graft line.  Hopefully it will make a full recovery.

It hasn't put out any new growth since the flush I posted about here earlier in the year.  The leaves look dessicated all the time but it has looked exactly like this for a month or two with no further decline.

I only water when it hasn't rained in days but I'm usually on the assumption that I can't overwater the these because of the potting mix.  This is the only one I have still in a non-rootmaker container so maybe the drainage isn't as good as I expected, especially since it sits on dirt.  I didn't want to disturb the roots since it already nearly died but maybe I will poke some extra holes or repot it into a rootmaker.
