How are everyone's acuminata seeds germinating? Mine did not germinate even though I usually have no problem germinating Garcinia seeds. :( Was it just me? I am not complaining or anything. but just want to see how everyone else's seeds are doing.

I bought Garcinia acuminata from kona Fruit farm and got 100% germination. In fact, they survived our deadly summer heat (45c), under my moringa tree.  8)

I am specifically asking about seeds bought from the member who created this thread. I'll look into them though! :)

Some Garcinias are very slow to germinate, and can take up to a year to germinate.
I have some G. madruno, that were sown about 6 months back, and still no sign of germination, however they're still alive.

Just be patient, and wait for them.

I bought 10 seeds from this seller. For errors of the USPS were 2 times to Denver Co., 2 times to Hawaii and went to the islands of Guam, and finally a USPS employee knew where Puerto Rico was and arrived in good condition. Now they are beginning to germinate. I think you're going to need a little patience because they look like they're late to germinate

Gotcha, now I'm thinking that. I can simply purchase a seedling from Dwfl if it doesn't work out still have hope, because they of course came in great shape! They are probably just taking longer than the other species I've sprouted in the past. (Achacha, lemon drop, seashore, imbe, and gamboge. I have to remind myself patience is key. ;) Now that I think about it. I purchased imbe seeds last fall, and the last 2 of the 7 are just now popping up.

I planted some seeds of Garcinia sp Pungara and I planted them in October 2015 and the last one germinated in September of 2016, I could not believe it, I was going to discard it, and by the way I sent dwfl that plant of Pungara.

Just for clarity sake, the seeds in question are Garcinia madruno, commonly called charichuelo. It's a species with a fair amount of variation. Garcinia acuminata was never valid for this fruit, only for an Asian species, though that was renamed too.

Eugenia luschnathiana = CURUIRI.    Talisia esculenta = PITOMBA
I do not recommend people deal with Fruit Lovers, Prisca Mariya or Fernando Malpartida
