Is this mango tree dying?
« on: March 06, 2017, 09:18:26 PM »
I got this Nam Doc Mai mango from Champa Nursery, and it had flowers already but recently it looks sort of like it's drying up even though I've kept the soil moist. So is it dying or something?

I'm afraid it is. The shriveled green trunk and droopy leaves spell doom IMHO.

Thanks, I heard that this variety is a very difficult one to maintain

Don't keep the soil moist. You will kill it from overwateting. Let the soil dry out and only water if the leaves start to droop. Hope this helps... You could also try and replant it in dry potting soil NOW. Good luck. Maybe someone else has a better idea...Lots of good info here.

I think I may have over watered it on accident because I didn't know. But The nursery told me I could exchange the plant for another, which is what I'm planning on doing.

this looks more like you disturb the roots and replanted during Santa Ana's.  90F 7%humidity will suck the lives out of plants this time of year.

No the tree remained in the same pot that I got it in.

I didn't fertilize it, I kept it in the shade then gradually moved it into full sun. I'm thinking I may have over watered it.
