What's up with these sugar apple new leaves?

Have some new growth (including what looks like some flowers) emerging from my sugar apple tree. Some of the edges around the new leaves are black and brittle...

Sun burn or something else I need to spray for?

it doesn't get much if any morning sun, and while it's been warmer recently it hasn't been all that hot, at least I dont think so...It does gets plenty afternoon sun.

I was thinking leaf hopper too. Go out in the evenings and see if you can find little green flying bugs on the undersides of the leaves (be careful not to disturb the leaves, as this will cause them to fly away).

I have plenty of leaf hoppers and my leaves do not look like this.  Har pointed them out for me.  On my trees, I associate the leaves curling downward or cupping upwards and crinkled ribbing with leaf hopper damage but maybe I am wrong.

i?ve no idea but for sure NO sunburn.
Here at 10° from equator sun is scorching and i never had this kind of damage to my sugar apples leaves

Fe,K and Manganese deficiencies can all cause burnt edges in young foliage but look for secondary symptoms like purpling of old leaves or reddening of stems to pin it down. Just google it.Maybe your soil is too alkali.

thanks for all the responses...so many different potential causes  .....

Guess i will just focus on the overall health of the tree and give it the nutrients it needs etc., and hope it helps...unless someone knows for certain exactly what this is and can provide a specific treatment... I'll take an updated pic this evening so you guys can see how it's progressed.

Yes, I'd say some sort of nutrient (mineral) deficiency.

Two different sugar apple trees side be side. Firsts year I've seen with this issue. (Big red seedling, Peru red)

I'm still having this issue, posted some pics in another thread on S.A. pollination. The flowers seem to be making it unaffected, and I have been pinching off the affected leaves. The condition hasn't responded to any fungal sprays, hort oil, or holistic treatment (focusing more on the trees general health with better nutrient application, paying more attention to watering, pest management etc.)...

I'm also fairly convinced it's not sunburn...

it starts at the leaf edges and presents like being burnt black to a crisp and gradually consumes the whole leaf...

I'd love to figure out what this is and how to treat it.

Even my custard apple is getting in on it. Not as bad, mostly wrinkles.



Any idea on what this could be causing this?
These trees didn't have any problem last year.
I did spray micros on my trees recently. but i don't see damage on my other trees including annonas.

Looks like leaf hopper damage to me. I have to spray azasol + botanigard once a week for leaf hopper control.

From what I can tell, the tree mostly looks really nice. It looks like it's just affecting a couple of leaves?
