Hi Guidelazeri,

Have the cupuacu fruits come from the market, or have you collected them personally from under the tree? What price for whole fruit?

Regards
Dominik

Hi Dominik
I got fruits in a small local market in the city. The fruits were not refrigerated.
Each fruit has around 35 seeds, but an experiment friend told me that to send whole fruit by mail from Brazil is not allowed.
Cheers.

It seems that the challenge is to maintain moisture and prevent fungal attack during transport

Guidelazeri, how do You protect seeds from drying out? Do You send seeds in moss?

Yes, I'm thinking to pack them in a plastic bag with sphagnum moss or moist vermiculite. I am studying and looking for ways to succeed in this operation. I think I need to do some tests before shiping this species seeds to other countries. I was not aware that this species was so challenging.

Thank You for photo. In the case of this type of seed or fruit, it often happens that the material received does not survive transport. On the other hand, if the sent material is lively and properly prepared for shipping and next properly treated by grower - then most often everything is ok. Do you provide a guarantee for the seed shipped? Supposedly: if the seeds are dead when theu come to the recipient then how do you solve the situation?

It is a matter of combining the conditions with each interested buyer. I will make my first shipments soon and the customers themselves will come here to give feedback on the outcome of the process. I prefer to let them report on quality and express their satisfaction. ;)

Very aromatic fruit, acidic flavor similar to pineapple. Very suitable for juices, mousses and creams.

http://www.kew.org/blogs/cupua%C3%A7u-taste-amazon
"The cupuaçu doesn’t taste like anything else. Its rich, voluminous flavour is sweet, sour and slightly tart at the same time, with a very pleasant but heavy fruity component reminiscent of a mix of pear, banana and pineapple. On top of all this lies a rather strong hint of something bizarre, almost artificial, that to me tastes like a mix of aniseed and wintergreen or perhaps the resinous aroma of mango skin. To put it short, it simply tastes like cupuaçu!"

A commemorative day for me. Today was the delivery of the first Cupuaçu seeds that arrived in perfect condition. The destination was in India and the journey time lasted 20 days. Follow the photo of the seeds upon arrival.

Thanks for your feedback mfysal!!

And below are some photos of the seedlings I'm producing here at home.

In the coming days other friends will receive the seeds I sent at the end of May and hope to bring more good news.
I'm confident in the process I'm doing, so I'm preparing a lot of Cupuacu seeds for shipping soon.

Best regards!! 8)

I would like to share here some pictures taken by our friend Zaz from Russia. In his words, "Seeds came to Russia in excellent condition. All the seeds germinated". I'm very happy with the outstanding result.

Thank you very much for the kind words and feedback, Zaz!
I can't wait to see your seedlings full of health.
Good luck!

Hello friends,
Despite the low temperatures in my area (18° Celcius midday) at these days, my seedlings are doing well here.
Hope to hear good news from our colleagues that bought Cupuaçu seeds.
