Bunyas date back to the Jurassic and approach 150 feet in large specimens. The nuts are a bit like potato and chestnut mixed and the cones are colossal. They are subtropical and pretty tough.

I really like the way they look. I thought of growing it in a greenhouse as a houseplant.

I have a couple seedlings if you're interested (I think it's the wrong time of year for seeds) also you need male and female trees to get the nuts
unless someone like you
Cares a whole awful lot
Nothing is going to get better,
It's not

They are very cold hardy and grow in cities like Dublin and Auckland. There are no wild trees over 170 ft and the big ones were heavily harvested for timber from the wild.In good conditions they can produce cones in just 15 years from being planted out and cones can be up to 20lbs.

But I heard that they can not stand the strong cold.
Maybe it was the wrong information?
