Has anyone tried Cupui cacao?
« on: September 21, 2017, 11:13:46 PM »
I've actually never tasted any raw cacao seeds or pulp before. I've seen there are differences between varieties, so I'm curious. I have a plant, but I want to know everyone's experiences with the variety (Theobroma subincanum) .

Does it produce well? How is the growth? What does it taste like?

Thanks!

Hello,

Cupui usually needs cross-pollination, they have a different taste of cocoa and cupuaçu, but soft and does not smell strong like cupuaçu, but has very little pulp compared to cupuaçu, the pulp is thin as in cocoa ..

is a tree very sensitive to the sun, so protect your plant, add water and manure.

Good luck in cultivating.
