CITRUS TASTING AND OPEN HOUSE SATURDAY DECEMBER 7, 2013
« on: December 03, 2013, 09:29:33 PM »
Here's a chance to sample over a 100 varieties of citrus in Texas. This event is scheduled for this Saturday but due to predicted bad weather the date may change. Check the link below for updates if you are interested in attending:

https://sites.google.com/site/johnpanza/openhousenotice

Come taste the citrus, and see the 3rd largest citrus collection in the state of Texas, and the largest private collection in Texas (free).  Come see and taste the giant Panzarella cluster lemon.  See grapefruit, tangerines and oranges all growing on the same tree.  Also, check out the magazine Texas Gardener Sept./Oct. 2013 issue, pages 26-31, or Sept./Oct. 2003 issue, page 18-24, and and Nov./Dec. 2006, page 47 for more details.

Thanks,

Ed

I bet you could sell a bunch of miracle fruit at this event!

I'd love to bring a bucket of them...and of course I'd like to taste all of that citrus, before and after!

Good luck with that Ed.  Man, would I love to make that one.  Been reading the news/comments via the Yahoo group.  If I was you, I'd wait until at least Sunday to hold it. This Arctic blast is gonna be a real buggar.  I'm open for the holiday season (choose-n-cut Christmas trees) and most likely will not open Friday and Saturday due to freezing precip and highs in the low 30's.  Looks like Lake Jackson is only getting cold rain.

Thanks Mark!

Yeah Scott,  John P. has a huge collection of citrus ! His annual open house is a great opportunity for folks to sample citrus that is usually not commercially available!
