Title: Nearly girdled my Avocado - will it be okay?

Have a young 6 foot Winter Mexican that I temporarily tied to some posts to stabilize during a wind storm 3-4 months ago.  Apparently I stupidly left one of the knots tied around fresh main growth and completely forgot about it until I noticed slowish growth and checked on it today. The bark is dented in about 3-4mm from the surrounding bark, about 4.5 feet up the tree just below its most recent growth flush. The cambium is intact as the growth above it appears fine and doesn’t wilt in the heat, but the new leaves were a bit small which prompted the check. Should I prune the growth above this? Worried it might lead to slow growth above the point or future structural instability.

Don't worry about it, it's fine, some folks do that to increase production on that branch
