I do this every Spring to my 2 jujube trees.
The trees end up 12' x 15' by now.
They flower now and don't set and I get a good fruit set around Xmas.
If you keep trimming them I think you would sacrifice fruit production?
I'll add a NOW picture later today

Keep mine around 8 feet or so with ease. Trim once or twice a year.

Is there any use for the suckers that pop up here and there? Can they be rooted?

I ask because I'm planning to propogate what I believe to be a new variety and I'd like to start possibly rooting suckers for rootstock.

I’m not sure how great of a rootstock the suckers will be. They might not have a good root system.

I used to plant the seeds and graft onto the seedlings. Cleft grafting works well.
