What is this tropical fruit??
« on: May 08, 2013, 07:19:03 PM »
Hi, We recently purchase a home and this tree is growing on the side of the house. I am very familiar with just about all of the fruits found throughout the Caribbean but this one escapes me.And Ive never seen anything like it here in FloridaThe tree is loaded with these . They start out green then turn yellow then this beautiful dark red. I`m tempted to just bite into these because they look delicious but they have no smell and a rather large pit.

THanks in advance! Ana
 I'm including another photo

Also, the flowers are like those of the caressa and similar to a citrus bloom. They smell wonderful
