Solanum glaucescens, Cuatomate

Howdy everyone,

Just listed some really awesome Solanum glaucescens, or Cuatomate, collected by Steven Murray.  He said they were really delicious and had a lot of potential to be grown in the US.  I have heard from some people that they are capable of withstanding light frosts but don't really know how hardy they are.

It's going to bloom. Last year there were a lot of flowers, but the fruits did not turn out,I hope this year he will cope.

I am going attempt to sprout these in Australia in the coming weeks.  I think my climate is on par with where these are grown with regards to temperature and rainfall.  What is the flavour like?  How big does the vine get?

Nice! I am not sure what the flavor is like personally. But Steven had mentioned that they were really very good a little tart and tangy and great potential for a commercial crop.

Apparently the vine was around 20-40 feet long growing on a fence.

I've got 2 small Cuatomates coming right now...only about 2 months old from seed.. growing in SW FL, have never tried them before!
