Fresh seeds arrived! Some of D. stenantha seeds already have crack on its coat, which may be sign of germination. I treated D. stelechantha with GA3, this may promote germinaton

Seeds arrived in good condition. All were germinated!

Duguetia lepidota, a very rare species.
Dada has been posted this species on this forum since years ago, but I haven't seen anyone found this one other than him.
It's so interesting to know that there's other varieties of this species.

Hi,

Pulp not edible. Only seeds.

Regards,

Berns

So this could be understood as a kind of nut?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Eugenia lutescens

Strange that the lutescens is not in the new Lorenzi book , was in the old one .

Hi Luc, the new book contains Eugenia sellowiana, the name Eugenia lutescens is mentioned as a synonym.

Yes SH, probably it is Naucleopis glaba, or Naucleopis Caloneura, it was good to know where it was collected, I already had contact with 4 species of Naucleopis, visually reminds me more N.Glaba, they are very good fruits, sweet, trees Large and latex, in the region they call Jaca do Mato, Muiratinga or Pamá.

I have fresh seeds at the time of Naoneopolis Caloneura and another species that I do not know which is for sure. Probably Naucleopis Jamariensis, which is endemic to a small region in northern Brazil, but we are still studying the correct ID. In 2014 I brought seeds of the four species of Manaus, but the seedlings are very fragile and die with the beginning of winter.

I am with these two planted again and waiting for germination.

I think that may belong to Moraceae, may be a Naucleopsis sp.

Wow your experience about growing Naucleopsis sounds similiar to my experience. Here in my place 2 seedlings of Naucleopsis ulei are growing, which were brought from our forum member Vitor(He either appreciated the flavor of Naucleopsis fruits). Actually they were five in May, 2016, but three of them died one by one during the last winter.

How would you say if I asked about their average height? At least N. ulei seedlings have thicker bole than the seedlings of Artocarpus or Helicostylis I've grown.

Could you tell us more details you mentioned about the Naucleopsis "male fruits"? I wonder if they are produced asexually, contain fertile seeds.

I bought some from Patricia in May, and her seeds were very fresh.
If she sells C. hirsuta again, I recommend to buy from her.

This is her post: http://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=19796.msg245092#msg245092

In this link, you can find some pics both of D. odorata and D. quitarensis.
However some appears to be very similar to other Duguetia fruit pictures Dada had uploaded and tagged as D. lepidota or D. quitarensis.

It seems a great wonder of Myrtaceae. Hope all the seeds grow into nice trees.

18
I hope to buy some seeds of this gorgeous guava, either!

19
Its shape reminds me that of Acca sellowiana. I've never seen of Psidiums with elongated shaped fruit, this one is really interesting.

20
In my case, Cheiloclinium cognatum took 11 months.

Hi,

Here in the southeast of Brazil call this Gulosa da mata atlantica fruit is very tasty, in the forest it is with a 4 m high, few people cultivate because it is too slow!

There is another similar tree of Saputá name

A tree called Saputá? Do you have its scientific name? Is it a liana?

22
Hi, Beni.
Is there local name for the Cayratia mollissima?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Baccauera, varieties of good taste?
« on: August 26, 2016, 09:35:05 PM »
You can get Baccaurea seeds from the Indonesian sellers in forum. They have at least 3~4 species during the season.
My recommendation among them is Maryoto. You could probably be satisfied with his packing.

24
Hi Richard,
The seeds arrived yesterday.
Seeds were preserved in great condition, and some sapotaceae seeds have germinated.
Thank you

Fresh Baccaurea seeds start to germinate within a few weeks. They are recalcitrant, so old seeds are hard to germinate.
