How old is your plant, as if it is under 6 yrs old, it will set fruit, then drop it.

Fortunately, I have heard of a gal that has got 50 soursops from her tree in Newport or Huntington Beach.

Best of luck,  :D

B2B

Garden Grove and a friend of Marklee in Chula Vista. I'm sure there are more out there. I tried to get them to bloom in early summer but failed. That's the time when my sugar apples bloom and they ripen in late October

Lory, that's absolutely not true. I believe the poster is a teenager, so it's all forgiven :).
My almost 3 year old holds about 10 fruits now,. It's about 3 meters ( 9 feet) tall. Just had first fruit few days back.

Sorry, I meant to clear up for California specifically, not for tropical areas where it does better!

It will fruit within 3 years, like you said

Ah much better thanks for information!
This is a good news because it means i don't need to wait another 3 years to get some fruits.
But at the same time it makes me puzzled to understand the reason why the several tens of flowers didn't turn into fruits.....  :-\

Lack of pollinators in your area?
My garden is absolutely teeming with ants, "attacking" every flower there is on every tree.  I was dreading  of doing hand pollination on other annonas, but that problem seems to be well taken care of. Not 100% sure, but it seems like I have thank ants, as other insects don't visit that often.

Frank - by trained, you mean your famous Annona strip tease act, correct?  I just want to make sure that I start my Ilama off right and well trained this year.

Just wondering if you strip the Guanabana at the same time as the Ilama and Atemoya in March?

you are on your own on this one, if you lived in brea, fullerton, la mirada, whittier, it would be a different story. I would start in February and move a month later every year until you get it right.
