Title: Another Paw Paw Variety Question

So another which Paw Paw Variety to get question.  I had one in a pot, but likely left it to long to transplant it well (years).  Anyway the choice at the nursery is Rappahannock,Prolific, Overleese, Susquehanna, and Shenandoah.  At some point I will want a multigrafted tree, but would like a good "base" tree.  Don't know my Paw Paws that well.

Rappahannock, Susquehanna, and Shenandoah are all Peterson varieties - considered top-notch. I don't think you can go wrong there.
You can see Neal's notes on each variety on his website.
Sometimes his trees are hard to come by so I would probably jump on one of those soon as you can.

EDIT - Peterson seems to like Susquehanna the best. Huge fruits and lowest seed ratio. not highest yields apparently, though

I am interested in growing pawpaws, I grow other relatives such as Annona atemoya. I grow in a zone 10a, that gets about 100-200 chill hours a year on average. Would this be enough to spur flowering in your pawpaw varieties?

This is from an email I sent him a little while back. So it seems would be totally experimental at this point. It can be that he is just stating what he has seen and there has been no testing or analysis of his varieties in zone 10a.

Roger Meyer had some growing on his farm in Valley Central which appears to be 10a/10b. They did/do fruit. Farm is for sale according to a recent CRFG e-mail.

Yes, I know some will fruit in Santa Monica, such as 'sunflower' and 'banana'. I'm just wondering about the Peterson varieties. Guess that's not been verified by experience yet. Some of us should try it. I'm planning to get a couple.
