Millet, thank you for your reply. One more question: do you water by hand or do you have an irrigation system? If the latter, then how did you set it up?
I ask because I just set up an irrigation system for my numerous figs (in containers) but have been reluctant to use the system for irrigating my citrus because some citrus I water about every 3 days, some 5 days and some 7 - 8 days.
Best to you , too!!!!

Thank you for your schedule. Is this a daily schedule? I use 5:1:1 mix and only water when necessary. I have a problem with your one size fits all schedule.
When I water depends on:
-the individual plant
- the pot size. (I find that smaller pots dry faster thane large pots.)
- type of pot, e.g., Rootmaker pots require more frequent watering.
-and, of course, the weather (rain, wind and temperature.)

Millet, do you sieve the pine bark mulch? I ask because the characteristics of the pine bark differ according to brand with some brands having a smaller or greater proportion of large pieces and fines. Also, the proportion of fines increases with age of the pine bark.
I have been using Agway pine bark mulch. I no longer sieve it and so no longer include peat moss because the pine bark fines replace the peat moss.

So what does the "deliciously sweet" inner white rind taste like? Other than it is sweet. Is this really worth growing?

Chewey.com has 3 24 quart bags of Reptibark for about $54 including shipping.

I stretch the Parafilm and apply only one layer over buds. After a while, buds go through the Parafilm. Usually, by that time the Prafilm has started to break down and has weakened.

I am looking to purchase Italian lemon cuttings for me to graft. I am in Massachusetts and there is no quarantine for citrus.

DMonts, did you do a "bare root" re-pot, i.e., did you remove all of the old soil mix before putting the tree into the 5:1:1 mix?
Also, keep it in the shade for about a week and transition to part sun and then sun.

Citradia, please describe the protection you provide or show pics.

Citradia, what are you growing in ground and is it with or without protection?

What concentration oil do you use? Do you use an emulsifier, if so what kind and at what concentration?

"Would there be any value in watering with city water, then re-watering with pH-adjusted water?"
No. pH of the water might have a brief affect on the soil medium pH but has little longer term effect due to the buffering capacity of the soil mix.

Do not rely on the information you get from the water supplier. I recently lived in a town that got its water from a number of wells. My town (supplier) provided the pH information once a year. I learned that at any given time, some wells were used but not others. Every time they switched wells, and also depending on the season, the pH of the water would change. So, I checked the pH of my water every month or so and found that it varied significantly.  I used a cheap pH test kit for aquaria and pH strips used in the laboratory. The pH strips were more accurate and easier to use. This is what I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0786BHM4C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Citrus General Discussion / Re: Using coir instead of peat in 5-1-1?
« on: April 01, 2020, 10:34:39 PM »
All pH strips I have used require that they be dipped into the liquid for a few seconds, NOT minutes because the color will change with the additional time. pH strips from garden centers may be different from those I have used, although I doubt it..

Could such deficiencies actually be due to problem with the roots, e.g., root rot?
