What would you do?

Say you have a friend that has a mature, late season mango tree with mature fruits on it but over the past 3 years, that friend had lost favor about the fruit. Wanting to make use of the remaining warm weather till Fall/Winter comes, if you were in that friend's shoes, would you replace that mature tree now? Or would you wait until you've picked the final harvest off of the mature tree as an ode to that cv.?
