I don't recall hearing of this one earlier, does anyone know anything about it? How does it compare to better known blood oranges? Does it require less chill to develop good color (it supposedly originated in FL)?

I don't know much about Budd Blood orange, but they have been around for at least 10 years or so. Harris Citrus (Florida) also used to sell them, but I don't see them on their Blood Orange listings any more..

i have purchased from harris this tree and it is a great variety they are now allowed to ship out of state by USDA also bought the morro and the pummelo

I have not grown it, but it was introduced to Florida specifically because it would develop better color under our warm-nights conditions than some of the more traditional varieties.

I have budd blood in my collection. It colors up nicely for me but of course I do have colder nights up here in the fall even though it doesn't need it. The outside looks like a regular orange. It has a good flavor and the fruit have held well on my little tree. These are last two fruit out of about seven it produced last year.
