Dweet Tangor
« on: January 26, 2015, 03:20:01 PM »
Hello i have just brought a new citrus tree a Dweet Tangor. Can anyone tell me about the fruit on this tree?
I have looked at info on wiki & Citrus Variety Collection but am interested in any further personal experience on Tangors.
Flavor: Will they be tart like a Tangelo (mandarin/grapefruit hybrid) or sweeter than Oranges etc???
Will this have the tapered neck?
What is the skin like for peeling?
Any info would be interesting to hear.

Cheers

I've never heard of it, but UCR says this (at http://www.citrusvariety.ucr.edu/citrus/dweet.html)

""Fruit medium-large, reddish-orange, globose to oblate-necked, and moderately pebbled.  Rind peels poorly and tends to puff.  Seedy, very juicy, and of rich flavor.  Matures late.  Does not hold well on tree, but good for home use. "
