Kasturi is very good. Main problem is that the fruits are small. Kuini i am not so crazy about due to strong piney taste and smell. Mango ofcourse is the king! But look at the anthracnose spotting on the mango. The kasturi and kuini fruits are anthracnose free. That is a big plus here due to heavy rainfall during flower set.

Same as Kuini 5-6 years. You can speed that up by getting scion wood and grafting onto mango. Yes they are completely graft compatible.

I;m guessing kasturi and kuini are slightly more cold tolerant than mangoes because they are highlands species. But i don't know how much more cold they can tolerate? Would well be worth experimenting with them in areas where mangoes don't do so well.

Oscar: how would you say MLalejiwoo compares to Kasturi, Khuini and Indica in terms of anthracnose, taste, size and cold-tolerance?

I don't know. I don't have Lalee jewo growing. I've heard it's also anthrocnose resistant. Don't know about it's cold tolerance.

Another idea to experiment with in areas too cold for mango would be to put mango on rootstock of kasturi or kuini to see if that makes the mango more cold hardy and/or disease resistant.

I'm surprised you don't have Lalejiwoo; I am convinced you must have one of the largest collections in the world!

I have a small lalejiwoo the plant looks very similar to Mindica and I've heard is very good, but mine hasn't fruited yet.

I had one but accidentally mowed over it with the tractor.  :'( :'(  I have to get another one. I've also heard they are quite good but haven't tried one yet. My collection is not that large right now, but i hope will be some day.
