South Dakota is a long way to go for a Pitangatuba.

I bought ten 1 gallon plants from FFF the summer of 2015. I immediately bumped them to 3 gallon.
I bumped them to 7 gallon pot  and then to 15 gallon pot last spring. They have been producing since last summer.
We didn't have much of a winter and they just kept going. Now they are really kicking in. I ate 3 this morning,
It is such a unique flavor. The more I eat them the more I like them. If I had to start over I would buy 2-3 of the
plants from FFF and bump them to 3 gallon pots, Water as often as possible they grow pretty fast. Then if you find a local
full grown plant you can always buy it. I have heard they do better with a pollinator? All 10 of my plants are producing
with some variation in the fruit.

I bought several one gallons from Adam at Flying Fox Fruits ( www.FlyingFoxFruits.com) last year and 3 are now blooming and setting fruit.
Good prices and nice quality too.
You can email him and order direst or buy them off of eBay.

Mine have been cooped up in my greenhouse over the winter...  so I have been hand pollinating with an artists brush.
Did the same thing with my Cherry of the Rio Grandes and Surinam Cherries. They all set fruit.
Now that the weather has warmed up I will move them outside and let the bees do the work.
