Do Mamey Sapotes generally come up true to parent type, or are they one of those fruits where you want to graft a known variety because seedlings might suck? The local mexican grocery stores have been advertising mameys, and I've been thinking of buying a bunch to harvest seeds

They do not come true from seed.  It will also take significantly longer to fruit from seed.  You would definitely want to go with a grafted tree.

In your location,  I would recommend a green sapote. ..which you would also want to get a grafted tree.

Hello Friend,

A friend of the Forum ordered me many seeds of mamey, I did the fruit harvest yesterday and today, taking advantage of the fact that we are on holiday in Brazil, but today sent me a PM giving up the purchase.

If anyone wants seeds, they will be ready for shipment on May 4, please PM.

Price 3 usd per each seed.

Hi,

I have fresh seeds mamey sapote.
