Can you propagate Cupuacu through cuttings?
« on: May 28, 2017, 01:22:32 PM »
Hi,

Can you propagate Cupuacu through cuttings? I have a tree and wondering if you can produce planting materials through cuttings. My tree does set a lot of flower but rarely has fruit formation. I just harvested 2 fruits since i planted from seeds that came from puerto rico.

Regards,

Berns

Haven't tried it, but my guess, based on fact that cacao is propagated from cuttings, is yes you can. But you will have to use rooting hormone, shadecloth, and misting system.

Oscar,
