Video of Jim West Presentation in Hawaii
« on: May 28, 2017, 07:52:49 PM »
Got over 2 hours of video. Broke it up into six parts on youtube. Audio is pretty good, but slides a bit hard to see. But lots of good information. Go here for all 6 links https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=oscar+jaitt

Thank you so much for posting this. It is really cool that giant mulchi was just a chance seedling. Those look so good. I'll definitely watch this a few more times.

Yeah, i never realized that the giant mulchi was really that big until this slide show.
This was my first attempt at making a video of a presentation and also first time posting to youtube, so it's a little rough. Had some technical difficulties with the video camera. But was a learning experience.

Thanks for sharing the videos Oscar. It's amazing the biodiversity that's out there. Every time I hear about something new, wonderful, tasty that Mother Nature has provided us, I feel conflicted and sad because I know we are destroying her with deforestation and urbinazation. I'm glad that there are rare fruit growers and hunters out there that are saving some of the newer species before they are brought to extinction. Lucs Mexican Mangosteen is one example I can think of.

Jim is a wealth of knowledge, I can't wait to watch the rest of the videos.

Glad you all are enjoying the videos. Was a bit of a challenge for me, having never done that before. I wish the slides could be seen better, but the presentation was outdoors, not a good location, with all the outdoor lighting peeking through. Also my better video camera failed to work. Fortunately i had a backup camera, but color quality is not as good with that camera. Was a real learning experience. So far i've been much more into photos than videos.
There is an incredible diversity of plants and fruits in nature, and listening to Jim's presentation helps us to make us more aware of that. I got lots of seeds from Jim, and hopefully will be adding them to my offerings in the years to come.

I'm so happy you posted this, Oscar. Thank you thank you. I was really bummed that I missed Jim's visit (and your class) so it is a real treat to watch the videos.
