Rogue mango tree!
« on: July 02, 2017, 11:37:19 AM »
This tree was a volunteer that sprung up from a discarded pit. Any idea what kind it is? Thanks in advance!  It has very unusual very red leaves when it flushes.

Thought maybe some one had seen a variety that looks similar. Very red when flushed, unlike my other trees...

Yes, there are varieties with red new growth like that but that doesn't matter...what you have grew from a seed so the tree is a seesling if _________ (whatever variety the seed was from).

One of the mango that has the most red color new leaves that I know is the Alampur Baneshan, but your tree seems to have much larger and wavy leaves while Alumpur has smaller and straight leaves.
