Because of
Diamond
Fruit Punch
Fairchild Rudy
Galaxy
and lord knows how many other varieties they are keeping secret...is this a public institution or a private breeding ground for floridas nurseryman?

Galaxy is not a Zill mango.  Diamond is available and not that good.  What is so secretive with Fruit Punch?

Yes, Gary has given some of his to Fairchild and USDA but not everything is supposed to be shared.

Julie seedling, produced poorly at Gary Zill's property. I have one that set very well for me this year; stripped most of the fruit offnit but left a couple. Sap Aroma is Gary-esque. Appears to be mid season.

Yes I really liked the Julie seedling. The 40-26 doesn't have the sap aroma.

Rob, my point is that Galaxy and the other mention varieties are not in the U.S, NPGS by these names so it is a big secret.

Ok my question is can someone tell me the following Zill varieties commercial names so I don't have to pay royalties to nurseries:

Z-0
ZM-10
34-24
0-29

They are definitely underfunded, so maybe they just haven't had the time or resources to update the names. I am sure if someone gives them the new names, they would update it eventually though.

I got a Kathy. Not sure if it's a REAL Kathy. I will have to wait and see. If it is not oh well, one more spot for me to plant another variety since I ran out of real estate.   :(

I was at Fairchild's and the were selling the wild blue mango tree. Not sure if I should of gabbed one.

Also if you have Facebook look up the group Mango Tree Growers Of America. Lots of backyard growers with photos, etc.

'Kastooree': The blue mango

Anyone tasted this blue mango before?

I don't want a Kastoree. They are small and extremely fibrous. I did buy the Madu. There were only 50 grafted for sale and these are probably the only ones in the USA.

Good purchase. Anything different is a great addition. I saw those as well. I di not know that the trees were different in prices when I saw them. I got the Angie for $35. Have you planted it yet?

I tasted the Kasturi a couple of weeks ago. Very strong mango flavor, dark flesh color, very fibrous since it is a wild unimproved mango relative, outside color was closer to black, the fruits ripened on the tree and were windfalls, it must have had multiple blooms since there are a few green ones on the tree. This is an older established tree maybe 20 years old, ~30 ft high. Leaf growth is dense and the tree is healthy despite being in a treeline with competition from invasives and no visible care for years. It is a collector's item in my opinion, or maybe for breeding experiments.

Thank you @pineislander for your desrcription. I figured it would be very fibrous. Not a quality I look for.
