Suriname cherry gets a bad rap because many places grow them from seed as landscaping hedges. So, the ones planted in most people's yards taste like gasoline. There are a few select varieties that some people like. Zill's Black (or Zill's Dark depending on who you ask) is probably the best Suriname though.
