A better than average  germination rate after soaking in GA3 solution .I'm finding that usually only a third of them
come up in the initial germination event

I just got some seeds while in china. Seller said they imported from Taiwan. Anyone know which variety is this atemoya?

Hi Steve! Can you tell me what is ga3? I just got like 50-70 seeds from china atemoya imported from Taiwan and the fruit so tasty, Chewy, very sweat, pineapple, vanilla.... I am new to annona and want a fastest way to germinate for testing and future rootstock. I will order scion from frank once they big enough next yr or yr after.

GA3 is Gibberellic Acid. You can buy it on ebay.

They ARE etiolated.

This is the drawback of gibberellic acid, its difficult to find the right concentration to ensure a nice germination rate without damaging the future seedlings...

 You explain more about this please? How does using the hormone help or damage the seed and do the seedlings grow out of the damage? Thanks

Etoliation is just the excessive elongation of the stem that GA3 can cause especially in high concentrations. An extra tall and thin seedling say 15cm tall when it should be 5cm at that stage of development, can die off before it gets normal.
