Yes, is a good pratice to prune jaboticabas to get more fruits.
Remove the lower branches and the ones that grows to inside of the canopy. Also remove the bad formed branches.
Other thing important for jabos is water. Don´t let she dry. ;)

The Earth laughs in flowers. And bear gifts through fruits.
No where to plant it ...but at least I got it. ;)

To me it looks like coronata or sabará,

by the way, I read a lot Masanobu Fukuoka and he stated that any tree will produce more fruits if you just dont prune it, because its knows how to grow and produce fruits by its own, and there is no way we can get it better...

what do you think about it?

this jaboticaba from Helton seems to produce a lot and it seems to never had been pruned

Wow looks good youtube.

I just bought seeds from israel seller by E-bay.. So i don't know species... actually i know jaboticaba has many species recently...

I just want to speed up the flowering. if it is possible.... I almost agree your opinion that is why no pruning until now. but i should be choose. i can grow it only in the pot.

Thanks.

If you want to speed up the flowering get the red type or hybrid.
They take 3-4 years to start fruiting and my 3 trees fruited 7-8 times last year.
Also my three trees are in 15 gallon pots.

I pruned mine in early Jan, there were minimal flowers.
Today, there are clusters of them everywhere and the tree looks much prettier.
