Suggestions for new fruit plants
« on: July 31, 2018, 07:53:24 PM »
As I love fruit plants and am a collector...

I'm looking for ideas of other fruit plants that I can grow in my back yard.  I am looking more for plants that can be grown in 15-20 gal. containers.

I currently have:
bananas
pineapples
dragon fruit
miracle fruit
passion fruit
papaya
star fruit
sour sop
jaboticaba
fig
sugar apple

I also have one fig.  Hasn't done much for me but I keep it around.

Thanks for the suggestions.

In the next month I am going to go down to PIN and see what they have.

On my list: cherry of rio grande, grumichama, loquat, pitomba, grumichama

The loquat will quickly outgrow thw 15-20 gal pot.

Also look into pitangatuba,  E. stipitata,  Barbados Cherry and blueberry for smaller pot culture.

One is not enough for a collector living in Florida, looking to fruit things in 15-20 gallon pots.
As mentioned, Many Eugenia are good for fruiting in pots as well.

Plinias

I have one.
