I  have heard there are some large fruiting varieties of loquat, specially over seas. But, are there any large fruiting varieties available in Florida?

Hello,

Do you still have any more cocktail loquats for sale?

I'm specifically looking for a tree with varieties:  vista white, avri, tori, and aiden.

Thanks,

Onyi

Thanks for your response.

I'm very interested in purchasing a "cocktail" loquat and willing to wait till next year to get one!

Aside from the Vista White and Tori, what other varieties do you have available and could you please describe the flavor of the fruits?

Thanks,

Onyi

here is my Novak, Tori, Xmas

i bought a grafted xmas tree, and tacked on a couple scions (using a sort of side graft, or wedge)

I've had to prune the tree to keep the canopy balanced.

xmas scion in the middle of the canopy flowering heavily

Novak scion on the right side of canopy, just starting to put out flowers, right behind xmas

Tori scion, lower left of canopy, still has yet to bloom this year (although it fruited for the past 2 yrs)

I notice if the scions all flower at the same time, you get a bunch of seeds in the fruits.

quince as a rootstock imparts a dwarfing effect on loquats.

I remember i sold this crazy cocktail loquat to dongeorgio (had like 5 varieties)...I wonder how the tree is doing (looking) today??

I'm impressed by how well the cocktail loquats behave, they are easy to maintain for me so far.

awesome!  I remember one of the rootstocks was pretty tall, and i just did two offset cleft grafts at the same time.

i notice over time, the graft unions that seem really high up, end up migrating downward.   I had some jaboticabas that were grafted about 8 inches from the soil level, now the unions are touching the dirt!

for sure Avri...

at this point, still at least 10-14 day from being ripe...I always make the mistake of picking them too early!

I just tasted the Avri for the first time. Oh, my Goood!!The best loquat I've ever tasted. It reminded me of an apricot and a baked apple with sugar.

Mine is  fruiting for the first time this year from budwood I ordered from you. I have fruit on avri, vista, novack, and I think peluche but the label rubbed it on that one. I actually got 100% takes on the grafts and they were not my best looking attempts for sure. I did mostly whip and tongue.
