Loquat Graft
« on: March 05, 2013, 02:34:52 AM »
Man im super right now, i just checked my loquat grafts on my seedlings that grew next to the mother tree, and guess what the took! the grafts were green and seemed like they were starting to fuse together, and even one of my grafts are already sending out new buds! This is great because now for the two grafts i made, all of them caught! i used a kind of side graft or whip graft, and it has been almost 4 weeks since i made them. i will try to put up some pics tomorrow!

Congratulations! How many times a day do you go out to see the graft?

I am happy for a week if a graft takes and have to see it grow a few times a day. I had a graft that took some days ago and now the ants sit on it all the time >:(

congrats!

Make sure to do some cocktail trees!!  They seem to work out wonderfully...unlike some citrus cocktails I've seen...where the pommelo or grapefruit takes over!

I think the trick is matching up vigor. Lemon vs loquat -- lemon wins!

congrats!

Right Right..

Record buck still sells the hell out of them...with Lemon, Orange, Lime, Grapefruit all on one tree.

I think it works out nicely for loquat as well, because its different varieties of the same species..whereas citrus cocktails have a mix of species.
