Yard Pictorial
« on: September 15, 2012, 07:28:49 PM »
Just a few Pics of my trees for everyone to check out. I live in Kendall on a 13000 sq ft lot. Don't have any trees in the front yard just sides and back. Haven't convinced the wife too let me have the front yard yet. Hope to be loaded with fruit in a few years like most of the members here.

This is my new Coconut Cream the last one didn't survive an afternoon thunder storm.

Neelam

Sweet Fairchild Grafted Jackfruit

Garcinia Intermedia purchased from Jeff. Cookie Monster if your reading I'm getting growth from below the graft do I let it grow, what is the rootstock?

Seedling Gold Nuggett Jack

Sweet Heart Lychee not looking so good. Any suggestions?

Jaboticaba I have two in pots at each end of the pool.

Fairchild #2 Canistel

Pickering
Ge
Geffner Atemoya

Nice selection of trees.  Your Neelam is growing much differently than mine.  I am wondering why there is all this variation in Neelam growth being reported. Has your fruited yet?

Very nice,  wish they sold those cement "rings" things here. looks so nice with those.

so many folks with Neelam, guess we will find out soon how they stand up against other varieties, from different members here.

The greenery of your trees looks great in contrast with the greenery of your lawn. Trees and lawn are lush. It has been raining every day here in South Florida. Not a lot necessarily but that every day rain is greening things up. Some years we can go six months at a time with minimal rain.

My beefness, everything looks so nice. Love how you bushed out the mangoes.

Is that an actual seedling gold nugget or the grafted Lara (which was a gold nugget seedling)?

I'd chomp the suckers from below the graft on the lemon drop mangosteen.

Cute dog. Is it a silky terrier?

Jeff the gold nugget I bought from you, I don't see a graft line on it that I can make out. I think it's a seedling and not grafted but not sure. The dog is a yorky chiwawa mix.

OK. If you got it from me, then it's grafted and the cultivar name is Lara, which is a gold nugget seedling.

Your trees look really happy.  Is that a fruit I see on the lemon drop mangosteen?  How old is it?  My grafted golden nugget also does not show a graft line either.  I think a year after it was in the ground, I could not see it anymore.

Yes the Lemon Drop is fruiting. I just purchased it about 2 months ago from Jeff. It is a grafted tree but I don't know how old it is. Fell in love with it after trying it at Harry's house a couple of months back. And since have also purchased some Achachairu trees from Montoso Gardens and even managed to find some Mexican Garcinias which at the moment are hanging by a thread because they got delayed in transport and I received them dry.

Tropicdude I am not sure if you know, but those "ring" things (decorative concrete blocks) are made individuality. You can make the circle as big as you want. I am suprised you don't find them there. The last time I was in the DR I remember a lot of yards being landscaped with bricks, pavers and such. You can also make a ring out of decorative concrete retaining wall blocks. They make the weed wacking very easy.

I have a Sweet Heart Lychee with same problem, mine is much larger but, it refuse to stay green. The people at Pine Island sold me some chelated iron to put on it, but it has yet to turn green.

Thanks for all the comments. I have tried iron, foliar sprays and nothing don't know what else to do was thinking about ripping it out and getting another one or planting something else but still undecided I'm giving it more time to see what happens.

Are you applying chelated iron? In the Miami area that is the only thing that works. I have also had success with the acid lovers mix from Diamond fertilizer company. Problem is you got to stay on top of it or you'll get one green flush and then a yellow flush.

Now that I look at my carrie and your angie mango at the same time, they look pretty similar to each other.  I think this might bring up the topic based on the theory that carrie might be "one" of the parents of Angie.
